Following a meeting with Governor Uba Sani, the Joint Union of Tertiary Institutions of Kaduna State (JUTIKS) has suspended the indefinite strike declared on September 30, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Chairman, JUTIKS, Comrade Usman Shehu Suleiman, dated October 20, 2025.
“The Governor, granted audience to the leadership of JUTIKS on 17th October, 2025 at the Sir,
Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna during which His Excellency, the Governor graciously
pronounced the approval as follows:
“Implementation of 70% of 2024 CONPCASS/CONTEDISS Salary Structure with effect
from October, 2025 salaries;
ii. Inclusion of the non-teaching staff in the 65years retirement age policy.
“In view of the above, the leadership of Joint Union of Tertiary Institutions of Kaduna State (JUTIKS) hereby suspends the indefinite strike action with effect from Today, 20th October,
2025,” the statement said.
According to the statement titled, “SUSPENSION OF INDEFINITE STRIKE ACTION” “Members will recall that the Joint Union of Tertiary Institutions of Kaduna State (JUTIKS) embarked on an indefinite strike action on 30th September 2025, to press
home the following demands to the Kaduna State Government:
i. Implement the CONPCASS/CONTEDISS Salary structure which has remained unchanged for over 16 years;
ii. Review the 65years retirement age to include the non-teaching staff without additional
conditions in line with the guidelines of the regulatory bodies of these institutions”.
It therefore, said , “All member Unions are hereby expected to domesticate this directive, please”.
JUTIKS thanked members for their support and resilience during the indefinite strike action.
